"Rooster Illusion" 2018
"Rooster Illusion" is Dan Barracuda's sophomore effort. The album is an important step in his sonic journey, incorporating field recordings, progressive and experimental elements, and lyrical themes of identity, growth, pain, nature, and death. Consisting of 7 tracks, "Rooster Illusion" is a hauntingly powerful, jarring, and cinematic journey of dynamics, ambience, textures, and deep philosophical expression.
"Soliloquy" is Dan Barracuda's debut as a solo artist. These songs were conceived, tracked, and stitched together throughout the past 8 years. As a musician artist, Dan strives to make each piece different so that it lives in its own conceptual world, situated with its own unique colors, textures, and words that altogether bring the music to life. It is completely self-produced, recorded, and mixed in his home (with the exception of the drums). It explores reflection, ambition, retreat, optimism, and the constant pressure he feels to capture a moment of inspiration. As a debut, it represents Dan's first foray into sharing the thoughts and sounds in his head out there into the world.

Dan Barracuda is a composer, producer, collaborator, and engineer from Boston, MA. He has created over 3,000 song ideas and riffs on guitar, piano, bass, and vocals. Some of these ideas turn into either completed songs on his albums, short video clips that he shares with his followers, or part of his "Original Guitar Riff" series on YouTube where he asks for other musicians' feedback and collaboration. Dan also likes to create unique takes on songs from his favorite bands and artists, often celebrating anniversaries of a particular album release date or the artist's birthday. A multi-instrumentalist by trade, he also loves composing music for films, recording instrumental parts for other artists, and teaching music. Above all else, Dan Barracuda wants to engage with his listeners and share all the musical ideas that have been circulating in his head for the past 12 years!
